Set/Remove negate for narrative values

Set/Remove negate for narrative values

The "negate" feature allows you to reverse the sign of a value either positive or negative, which is essential for financial reporting. This article provides a step-by-step approach to set and remove negate for narrative values. Follow the provided steps below.

Set Negate

  1. Begin by selecting the content, right-click, and choose Force Highlight. The selected content will be highlighted in yellow.
  2. After highlighting the value, click the "Add to Grid" button. This action will add the selected value to the grid for further manipulation.
  3. Select the row in the grid that contains the value you just added.
  4. Right-click on it and choose "Set negate" and the sign will be reversed associated with the particular value.
Info
If negate is added to the content, the sign will be in True for identification.

Alternatively, Modify Tag from the Presentation Tree:

If you had forgotten to set negate while tagging the narrative contents, you can add it using the modify tag option.
  1. Select the element directly from the presentation tree.
  2. Right-click on the element and choose "Modify Tag."
  3. In the grid, choose the required element that you want to negate.

      4. Right-click on the selected value or row and choose the "Set Negate" option. This will apply the negate property to the value.
      5. Once you set the negate option, the sign associated with the value will change to "True," indicating that the negate property is now active.
      6. To finalize and apply the changes, click the Tag icon. This action saves the changes and completes the process of setting the negate property.

Remove Negate

  1. Right-click on the value or row where the negate property is currently set and choose the "Remove Negate" option. This will remove the negate property from the value.
  2. To finalize and apply the changes, click the "Tag" icon. This action saves your changes and completes the process of removing the negate property.
