Set/Remove negate for table values
Negating numeric values involves flipping their signs,
offering flexibility in reporting positive and negative figures in XBRL output.
When selected values are initially reported as positive, applying the negate
function will represent them as negative in the XBRL output, and vice versa. Set/Remove Negate provides a straightforward solution for sign modification in
your XBRL reports.
Set Negate
- To begin, toggle on the table tagging button to initiate the optimization process.
- Next, select the required cell that contains the tagged value you want to negate.
- Once the cell is selected, right-click on it and choose the "Set Negate" option from the menu.
- A dialog box will appear, prompting you to confirm your choice by clicking “OK.”
- After confirming, click the "Tag" button to complete the process, ensuring that the sign modification is reflected in the XBRL output.

To verify whether the negate is applied, hover the mouse over the value; if the sign is in true, the negate is applied, and if the sign is false, no negate is applied to the value.
By following these steps, you can effectively manage the signs of numeric values, ensuring accurate and flexible reporting in your XBRL outputs.
Remove Negate
- If you need to reverse the sign modification, revisit the target cell where the negate was applied.
- Right-click on the targeted cell and choose the "Remove Negate" option from the menu.
- A confirmation prompt will appear; click “OK” to confirm your choice.
- Finally, click the “Tag” button to complete the process, ensuring the removal of the sign modification in the XBRL output.
By following these steps, you can effectively manage the signs of numeric values, ensuring accurate and flexible reporting in your XBRL outputs.

To use negate option for the table values it should be tagged.
