Reset Password

If you are unable to log into the MTD VAT Return application because you have forgotten your password, you can reset it easily by following a secure process. Follow the steps below.

Reset password

      1. Open your preferred web browser (such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Mozilla Firefox).
      2. Navigate to the official login page of the MTD VAT Return application: https://mtdvat.datatracks.co.uk/.
      3. On the login screen, enter your registered email address in the designated field.
      4. Click on "Forgot Password." This will trigger a password reset request, and a One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered email address.


      5. Open your email inbox and look for the email containing the OTP. If you do not see it in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.
      6. Copy the OTP from the email. Return to the MTD VAT Return application login page. Paste the OTP into the designated field and click "Validate."



      7. Once the OTP is successfully validated, a new system-generated password will be sent to your registered email address.
      8. Open your email inbox again and locate the email containing your newly generated password.
      9. Copy the new password carefully, ensuring there are no extra spaces.
      10. Go back to the MTD VAT Return application login page and enter your email address along with the new password.
      11. Click "Sign In" to access your account.

Change Your Password

To enhance security, it is recommended to update the system-generated password with one that is easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess. To do this:
      1. After logging in, locate the User Profile icon at the top-right corner of the application.
      2. Click on "View Profile" from the dropdown menu.



      3. Select "Change Password."
      4. Enter the current password (the one you received via email).
      5. Enter the new password and Confirm the new password by entering it again.
      6. Click "Update" to save your new password. You will see a confirmation message indicating that your password has been successfully updated.
