Before adding page numbers, ensure you insert a page break(
Insert Page Break) in the document. Navigate to the
Insert tab and select
Insert Page Break to separate pages clearly.
1. Navigate to the Home tab and select the Header/Footer icon.
2. Click the Set Header/Footer icon located at the top right of the interface.
3. From the options presented on the left, choose Page Number. This will allow you to add page numbers to the document.
4. Use the dropdown menu to specify whether the page number should be placed in the Header or Footer of the document.
5. Tailor the page number format according to your needs by adding any desired prefixes or suffixes. You can also adjust the number format to align with your document’s style.
6. Configure the page number settings to apply to a specific range by entering values in the "From" and "To" text boxes.
7. If you are working with Multiple header/footer configurations, click Save after each setup to ensure all settings are preserved.
8. Click Apply to enforce all the saved settings across the document. This action will integrate the page numbers into your HTML output as specified.
9. To remove page numbers from a particular range, enter the page numbers in the "From" and "To" fields and click Clear. This will delete the page numbers from the specified range.
10. To reset all configurations for the entire document, click Clear All. This will erase all header/footer settings, restoring the document to its original state.
