When you log into the MTD VAT Return application, you will receive a pop-up notification regarding HMRC registration. This prompt ensures that your entity is correctly registered with HMRC before proceeding with the application. Follow the steps below based on your registration status to complete the process.
For Registered Users
1. If your entity has already been registered with HMRC:
2. Click "Yes, I have registered." Please note that this registration is not user-specific but applies to the entity as a whole.
3. Upon confirmation, you will see another pop-up containing a welcome message and a brief guide on using the MTD application.
4. Carefully review the instructions and click "OK" to proceed to the main dashboard.
For Unregistered Users
1. If your entity has not yet been registered with HMRC:
2. Click "No, register now." Alternatively, you can follow the provided link in the pop-up to complete the registration process.
3. You will be redirected to the HMRC registration page.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions and provide the necessary details to complete your entity’s registration with HMRC.
5. Once the registration is successful, an activation email will be sent to the registered email address.
After receiving the activation email, follow the instructions within it to complete the setup. Once activated, you can log into the MTD VAT Return application and begin using its features.
